Electronics Recycling in Bonita Springs
How Bonita Springs residents can separate rechargeable devices, ordinary electronics and business e-waste before pickup.

Start with the battery. Lee County says electronics with rechargeable batteries, including phones and tablets, should go to its Household Chemical Waste and Electronics Facility because batteries can cause fires in transport or disposal equipment.
Sort by risk, not by screen size
| Group | Examples | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Rechargeable devices | Phones, tablets, power tools | Keep intact and use an approved electronics or household chemical waste route. |
| Plug-in electronics | TVs, printers, monitors | Check current county curbside or drop-off rules. |
| Business electronics | Office computers, network gear | Call the facility; business rules and fees can differ. |
Before anything leaves
- Back up files you need.
- Sign out of accounts and use the manufacturer’s reset process.
- Remove loose batteries only when the device instructions say it is safe.
- Keep swollen, damaged or hot batteries away from ordinary loads and call the responsible facility for direction.
- Ask whether monitors or televisions carry a special fee.
Lee County operates a drive-through Household Chemical Waste and Electronics Facility for residents. Its current brochure says large appliances are not accepted at that location and identifies different routes for some electronics. Check the facility’s current accepted list and hours before driving.
